My Story

 Hello and welcome.

My name is Marika, and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula based in Co. Wexford, Ireland. I am enjoying quiet country life with my husband John, children Markuss and Amber, and lovely dog Bobby  and cat Lilly.

I did my training with maternal care expert Dr.Krysia Lynch and gained so much knowledge and understanding about birth . I loved that Krysia so skilfully weaved in teachings from different aspects. Always keeping in mind the mind-body-soul connection. Becoming a doula was also my own personal healing journey, which made me more aware of what really happened during my own two births. I am blessed with two beautiful children, and they are my life’s biggest teachers, which I am so grateful for.

After many years looking to find my path, everything has brought me to this moment, and I am ready to serve women during their birth journeys, supporting them and their families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I am very drawn to postpartum support, as I feel sometimes the 4th trimester is overlooked, not giving enough attention and care to mum. Also, I am a big advocate for preparing yourself during the pregnancy. Not just learning how to support your body and what to expect during the labour, but very importantly how to prepare yourself for your new role becoming a parent. Birth as a rite of passage. 

My other passion is, as I call it, my red path - Menstrual Cycle Awareness guide. Learning and realising that women's cycle is our self-care tool completely changed my life. For the last two years I have been working closely together with other women in the local community organising workshops, women's circles, retreats, and different kinds of gatherings. Working with women is something that gives me purpose to get up in the morning. Women are thriving when they come together and feel supported and safe. We need each other for each other. There is so much unknown ahead of us, but I am learning to trust the process and surrender. I am learning to care about myself more and am really excited to work together with women for women.
